Our Process

From first consultation to first serve — here’s exactly how we build a court that lasts 25+ years.

Every Step, Start to Finish

01

Free On-Site Consultation

Joe Murphy visits your property to assess the terrain, soil conditions, drainage patterns, and available space. He’ll discuss your vision — court type, surface preferences, custom features — and identify any site-specific challenges like steep slopes, clay soils, or high water tables. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s possible and what it takes.

02

Design & Proposal

Based on the site assessment, we develop a detailed proposal including court layout, surface selection, drainage plan, and any custom features (viewing terraces, fencing, pergolas, masonry walls). If you’re working with an architect or landscape designer, we coordinate directly to ensure the court integrates with the broader property plan.

03

Site Preparation & Excavation

We clear the site, grade the land, and install sub-surface drainage systems engineered for the East End’s heavy rainfall and high water tables. For sunken courts, this phase includes excavation and construction of poured masonry retaining walls — adding approximately 6 weeks to the timeline.

04

Post-Tension Concrete Slab

The foundation of every court we build. High-strength steel tendons are placed in a precise grid, concrete is poured and laser-leveled, then the tendons are tensioned after curing. This creates a monolithic slab that resists cracking — even in the Hamptons’ freeze-thaw cycles. The slab requires 28 days to fully cure before surface application begins.

05

Surface Application

Once the slab is cured, we apply your chosen tournament-grade surface — DecoTurf, Rebound Ace, or Pro-Cushion — in multiple coats over approximately two weeks. Each coat is applied under controlled conditions and allowed to cure properly. The result is a consistent, professional-grade playing surface with precise line markings and your selected color scheme.

06

Final Details & Handoff

Net posts and nets are installed, fencing and windscreens go up, and any custom features (terraces, pergolas, landscaping borders) are completed. Joe walks you through the finished court, explains maintenance best practices, and discusses our ongoing maintenance packages to keep your court in peak condition for decades.
